I got into a relationship with him recently, and honestly, it's going great, and I feel super loved, but I feel like he's not over his ex. A friend of mine told me that he saw him texting his ex, and I was told not to tell my boyfriend that I know about it. So I asked him indirectly that I feel like he's not over his ex, and he reassured me so many times that he's completely over her and that he really loves me. He also didn't mention the part about him texting her, which is kind of upsetting to me. I don't know what to do!!!
His behavior with me hasn't changed at all; he still treats me the same, and to be honest, he has been treating me better than in my last relationship, or maybe I'm just used to the bare minimum?
There were times where he mentioned that I'm too good for him, that he doesn't deserve me, and that he's super scared of losing me. He even told me that he stopped smoking because of me (his mom has been trying to stop him for the past 3 years).
My friends don't like him very much, and they tell me to break up with him because he's not a good person, that I deserve better, and that he's trying to pick fights with me on purpose, so I'll break up, but I'm confused myself. Also, a very close friend of his who's close with a close friend of mine told us that I should break up with him because he's not a good person. Note that this is coming from a very close friend of his, so it might be valid.
I'm honestly so confused. I love him so much, and I don't know what to do!! I have really important exams coming, so I can't do much right now.
