Does he just see me as an occasional sex partner or does he want something more out of this?

So I am acquainted with a guy (let’s just call him Brian) who used to be a friend to my ex-boyfriend a long time ago and that is how I know him. Their friendship ended during the relationship I had with my ex-boyfriend but after a little while when he and I broke up Brian and I started talking and meeting up.

For the third time when we decided to meet each other we hooked up at his apartment and I’m positive that we both wanted that to happen. He was very sweet about it, because he wasn’t just focusing on getting himself off. During our time together when we weren’t having sex he kissed my forehead, my shoulders, held my hand, cuddled me and played with my fingers. He didn’t ask me to leave right away. We just talked and he asked if I wanted to go with him to give his friends (who we both know) who needed a driver a ride. At first I said yes but then looked in the mirror, saw that my hair was a mess and decided to go home. He kissed me before I left and we are still keeping in touch despite talking about this night and planning another time to see each other.

The reason why I mentioned that my ex-boyfriend and Brian used to be friends is because my ex told me while we were dating that he thinks Brian fancies me. Brian told him that he was lucky to have me and then he started to dislike my ex for the way he treated me. That’s one of the reasons why their friendship ended.

So right now I’m just wondering if he sees us simply as sex partners or if he wants something more out of this. Is it even possible for me to tell?
