I was raised to be respectful and that included not pursuing someone if they were already dating someone else. But sometimes you can’t tell how serious that relationship is and already I missed one chance because their ‘relationship’ was just a casual sex based thing.

Ladies : Until you are engaged are you at all open to a guy pursuing you or if not when are you officially off the market?

Gentlemen : Would you go after someone who is technically in a relationship if you felt strongly that a spark or chemistry exists?

I don't know. My college roommate was engaged to someone. After they broke up I stayed friends with her and stopped hanging around with him. It could have been more but somewhere in my mind she was still my roommate's girlfriend.
Once there was this girl that I liked a lot and she was going with some guy from another school so we just remained friends until one day while we were eating dinner her roommate asked her about her boyfriend and she said that she didn't want to go with him anymore. I guess she said it for my benefit. That was the green light for me.
