Personally I've never witnessed this form of problem but probably because the guy was good looking or had started something that attracted these women and jealously kicks into overdrive making it a competition to see who would get the guy giving the winner more confidence
The fact that they are fighting over a guy shows there is (whether inherent or not) perceived market value of said male. Why they fight for him.. because females select... and they cannot be free to select if there is competition.. This is why girlfriends and wives feel uneasy and threatened when a good looking girl walks past and captures the male eye.
"worth it" is a matter of personal opinion. You get your feelings involved with someone and logic goes out the window
Noone should put up with someone constantly cheating on them, Lying to them. But if they do, then they can't keep blaming other women. Can't even blame the person doing it, people will treat you the way you allow them to
