Why would people act surprised when they find out I’m single?

I’m 25 years young, I haven’t found Mr Right yet. When I mention I’m single, I get asked why a lot. Is it a weird thing to still be single at 25? A lot of my friends are already married or are in serious relationship. That doesn’t bother me at all, but sometimes I feel like people think it’s strange that I’m still single, never been married or have kids.

Just wait. You’ll be asked that question a lot more once you pass thirty. It’s because there are still a lot of outdated social stigmas about single women over a certain age. We have no social value without a husband. Just wait until you pass thirty and you meet men trying to put you through a gauntlet of questions from men grilling you about being single to try to find out what’s wrong with you

Most people think being single is not a choice and think people are always looking for Mr. right when that is not always the case. Do what makes you happy. Don’t let other people’s weird expectations dictate your happiness

People have this weird thing where you “should be getting married 25-30 “ and then have kids around that time as well. Screw that idea. The goal for me to be well established by 30
