I am all for the cheap first date coffee date. If it's awful, the two of you can part ways and not a bunch of money was spent. I mean one of the best first dates I ever went to was 100% free! The reality is, most guys do ask for the first date, and therefore pay for it and of course, go on a couple in a row and they really add up. That makes me curious to know why a guy would actually take a first date to an expensive restaurant where the bill comes out to at least $50 per person or more. Are you just a wealthy guy already so money doesn't matter that much? Are you really trying hard to get some afterwards? Are you just trying to show off? Do you just like X expensive place, so why not? What is the motivation?
