At girls who wear glasses."
Dorothy Parker, 1926
Whether it was true in 1926 is debatable but it certainly generated much discussion and many literary responses. One of the literary responses came from Ogden Nash in his 1931 poem "Reflections on Ice-Breaking"
Candy
Is Dandy
But liquor
Is quicker.
Back to girls with glasses. Is that statement true today?
Wow! I'm surprised at the number of responses. By posting this question, I was not trying to suggest that I personally do not like girls in glasses. Not at all!
