Is Tinder and the modern wave of online dating apps one of the worst inventions ever?

Since Tinder and similar apps, the online dating world has fucked up. Women complaining because of getting attention from guys who are creepy or just shitty, and men are not getting any of the "fun" at all. It's just a game of shitty experience vs. No experience at all.

There isn't any verification system aside from purchasing a membership. So many free sites, or free membership sites have a lot of scammers.


Some of the sites keep cancelled memberships active so they can boost "active" memberships on the roles. There was a court case on that a few years ago against a major site.


Some sites also use bot members when active memberships drop to low.


That's just the highlights.


On the other front, Recent surveys show fewer women are using dating sites and apps. Leaving men fewer choices.


However, because so many sites and exist it leaves a person with too many choices, or perceived choices. So, when one person doesn't work, just move onto the next.


This also brings up another interesting item. The perception that the "perfect" person exists. Just keep swiping until you find them. When they turn out not to be perfect, the person turns into an asshat

Even before tinder there was already tons of dating websites that were filled with fake profiles. Or they were using it as a platform to scam desperate lonely men.

I'm honestly surprised some of them are still around today.

This is why I tell people don't use dating sites or apps. Just a waste of time and even money if you're paying for the service.
