It's always a conscious choice. It's funny how people who get drunk and cheat say they didn't mean to do it or they lost control of themselves. Yeah right, they lost their control in such a way that they knew where to kiss and how to stick it in doing all other kinds of other shit.

Its a conscious choice if your intoxicated or not, if the thought had never crossed your mind sober than it definitely wouldn't when your drunk. Drinking does not make us do things we wouldn't normally do, it lowers our restraints so we are more likely to do the things we already wanted to do. I think , if I were in a relationship and the guy is too busy to text me or even give me attention and suddenly if someone else starts to give me attention, I may just hookup without feeling guilty but very conscious that I love the one I'm in a relationship with and I respect him being busy and not bother him and be emotionally needy.

Full disclosure, I’ve felt the temptation to cheat, numerous times. Sometimes the relationship gets rocky and that special someone from your tinder days hits you up at just the right time. Women can say they felt lack of love or so called fire " blah blah blah" I've seen way to much cases like that whereasthe real reason was a better or hotter individual to believe in saying that the fires gone. Well, if they really are that drunk then probably yes it was an "accident". But then again, getting drunk to that point IS a conscious choice. So in my opinion, no it doesn't just happen and that's a very lame unacceptable excuse.

Every cheater I've ever met it has been a conscious choice. I even knew one for a while who would badmouth her partner and constantly cheat on him both emotionally and physically. He got suspicious at one point and she threatened to break up with him until he backed down then cheated on him again after... Basically, he was the good one in that relationship and she was just a dick.
