I don’t block because at the end of the day I don’t hate anyone. I’m always (usually) okay with making amends down the line at some point. I just don’t want to block someone I genuinely care about just to find out they actually needed to talk.

I block my exes IMMEDIATELY after the relationship ends, regardless of who broke it off. This is a way to protect myself. My last ex tried to say I stalked her, kept trying to contact her, etc. However, the police could see when I blocked her and realized she was lying. When you break up with someone (or they you), there was a reason behind it and trying to contact an ex and expecting things to go smooth is like trying to put shit back in your ass after using the restroom.

Blocking them makes it seems like they have some kinda power over you still. But sometimes you gotta block some people. I've blocked annoying flings and friends but I've never blocked an ex. I just delete their number and unfriend them on social media
