If a guy previously slept around w random girls and used tinder a ton before dating me, is it a red flag?

I don’t do hookups and I met someone who primarily has had hookups over relationships. Are we not compatible or is it a red flag?

It could be a red flag.

Usually when guys go from sleeping around to getting into a serious relationship, it's hard for them to be faithful because they have had a lot of sex before. The more you do things the more you develop a habit. However, habits can be broken but that takes time.
I would proceed with caution. It's hard to tell if a guy is changing his ways or he's telling you his bad side so when he messes up, he can use it against you because you knew he was like that before he got with you. His actions will tell.

It can be. My brother used to be that way to a smaller extent. He has some numbers, but nothing too crazy. However, he always made it a rule to never cheat on anyone (though he did break up with some of them in order to get with someone else). However, once he met his current wife, he settled down. He did have a rough patch, but he made it through.

But he is one person. The guy you are thinking about is someone else. You have to consider if anything else feels suspicious, or if you want to take that risk. The risk is higher for someone with a past (or in some cases guys with no past at all). So you need to look at the rest of their character.
