Do most guys my age 28 -30 prefer younger woman?

Today it was hard day someone made a comment which it can be hurtful. On this site and in my work place their is this one guy he happens to have just turn 30 last week is dating this one girl who is 20 . That's not what bother me it is most the things he said I one comment he made he told me well your prime years are over a many man my age wouldn't waste time with a 28 year old woman as they're divorce with baggage. I couldn't help but run to the bathroom and cry. Am I taking things to personal?

Girl, I totally understand how you feel. Ageism (prejudice against people, especially women based on their age sucks). That's why most women lie about their age and get fillers, Botox and plastic surgery to look as young as possible. This is also propagated by Hollywood movie and culture that actually romanticize youth.
I don't know if this makes you feel better, but according to population surveys and statistics, the average age difference in heterosexual married couples is approx 2-3 years with the man older than the woman. Extreme age differences (the husband being 10+ years older than wife) are in the minority. I wish I could include the link from Wikipedia, but I can't, since I'm only XPER level 1.
Sure, everyone finds young people attractive but there's much more in a relationship than just looks, that's why most men choose women their age or close to their age at the end.

No. Which gym experiencing its flat out of you, and why would you want to get involved with that kind of man in the first place? The 20-year old is already being used because she's 20. She's going to Learn the hallway we're kind of messy got involved here you say that's not what ball is you but it should bother you because look at what was told to you. Would you allow somebody like that treat your own daughter that way? If no, then the next time another man was to make another comment to like that, you let them know They need a reality check because you're not going to get married or date an abuser. There are better men out there who will not treat you like those kind of pigs. Trust me, what relationship with those type of men they don't last long anyway. And most of them eventually get divorced at some point or they end up in miserable relationships or marriages. If the 20 your old woman does not see the kind of behavior and how he speaks, then either she's blind, or she's in endorsement of it. And if she's endorsing the behavior, have no pity.

I am slightly older than you but I do prefer to date younger. I will soon turn 32 and it's about time to start taking things seriously. So I would personally stay away from someone who is 20-22, because I feel like they will still change their mind seven times in the next decade. Too inexperienced, probably looking for adventure more than anything. 24 is where I start taking women seriously, 30 is where my interest may start to decline. So with 28, you are perfectly withing the right age category for me and that didn't change last couple years and probably won't for a few more. So I think now is precisely your time to shine.
That divorced thing sounds worse honestly, but if you put forward your strengths and only mentioned it much later, I would probably not read into it too much. So I'd say don't let anyone scare you. Make a case why a man should be interested in you and he just might be...

I mean, some deeply self absorbed guys are like that, but most guys are aware enough to notice the passage of time. Thats not to say 20ish year old girls aren't attractive: there's a reason they are on all the magazine covers. But outside of raw physical attraction, they will have trouble relating to anyone outside their own generation. Because that's how generations work.

I think you’re taking it personal but what he is saying is reality. Middle aged women with a divorce under their belt and kids are not particularly desirable options for dating. These are the facts of life. I’m not saying this to be hurtful or mean but simply stating fact.

Most guys your age do not prefer younger women, most guys my age and older probably do, but not too young. No matter how youthful a girl may look immaturity gets old quick. I could never date a 20 year old at my age on a serious level.

All this said, should you choose to date again it does not mean you have no chance. It does not mean you are undesirable. It just means you can’t compete with a younger girl who has no kids and no baby daddy.

I didn't decide I wanted to date young women. In fact if you ask me women in their late b 30's is when their most attractive. But as I got older I found women got more and more bitter. Through no fault of mine. I still paid the price though. Then one day I dated a really young girl and it was like beginning dating all over again. All she wanted to do was have fun. If there was any bitterness in her I never saw it. It was quite refreshing. Afterwards I said why do this to myself anymore. Who says I have to date my age? Especially when what is in the pool my age is so unappealing.

When I was 28, I just had a minimum age of 21 who I would date. My maximum was somewhere around 30-31 so I didn’t “prefer” younger but for me that was the only option a lot of times because I got along better with girls who were 4-5 years younger than me and nobody my own age wanted to date me.
