When you ask someone if you want to compete, the answer is likely no. Life is tough enough, who would want to find more challenges for themselves?


But when a guy see that the girl is being pursued by a few other guys, the value of the girl increases. Like demand and supply. When demand for girl increases, value increases. Guy thinks that the girl must be a really good catch because many people want her. (I would think that the girls also think of it that way)
