Why is she ignoring my messages after agreeing to dinner?

Me and this girl have been swiping right on each on multiple different dating apps for the passed year and a half. We’ve had multiple long and good conversations, follow each other on Instagram. I’ve asked her out once before but she said she had a lot going on in life at the moment. Which turned out to be true because he son was actually going through a serious health problem. Well this last time we matched on a dating app (3 days ago) I messaged her on Instagram and said “we can continue to periodically swipe right on each other or we can finally decide to meet up. How does dinner sound” and she responds positively to that and even decided on a day. So I told her I would look into reservations that night and get back to her. And she says “sounds great”. I message her a few hours later and say “hey anywhere decent in my area is pretty much booked I really don’t mind driving 30 minutes to your area. Totally up to you I’ll find something either way” this was about 48 hours ago and we’re supposed to have dinner Saturday (2 days from now). It’s Instagram so I can see that she read it. Why would she just ignore me when she has consistently kept matching with me on dating apps time and time again? I mean if she wasn’t interested why would she just say no to me asking her out, come up with some excuse or just ignore me in the first place?

She probably has a lot going on but she does actually sound interested. I would give her some space and have her reach out to you or just ask again and when you do meet up you can get a feel for it. Don't be shy to ask her what she is looking for on the app that will tell you a lot. Maybe she just wants friends and isn't putting so much effort because of that reason

Not sure. Sometimes suggesting a place by their house can be taken as hoping to get lucky after the date. I really don't think what you said came off that way though. I'd reach out to her one more time and ask if you're still on for Saturday.

Well I originally gave her the option to have dinner in my town or hers. Once I noticed everywhere decent where I live is booked up for the weekend I messaged her again telling her that then made a couple suggestions of places where she lives. We live 30-35 minutes away from each other. She’s left me on read. If I message her again it’ll be the 3rd time with no response. Would that be too much? I definitely don’t want to come off as needy if that’s the case.

Hmm. I thought this would only be the second time messaging her with no response. If I were you, I suppose I wouldn't message again. Now that I think about it, I had a similar thing happen with a guy in a dating app once. He suggested we meet up for coffee but then wouldn't tell me when or where to meet. When I asked him if we were still on, he said yes but still gave no details. This went on for a few days. Ultimately, it felt like he was either not that interested or just super flaky. Flakes are one of my biggest pet peeves, so I just let it go. In your situation, I'd probably do the same.

I agree with you. Something like this has happened to me far too often. Dating today just really sucks. I either meet cheaters or flakes it seems like. I like to think I’m a pretty good guy with his sh*t together who respects women.

I get it. Online dating is tough. I had that happen a few times too, but I eventually met my boyfriend online, so it can happen. Try to not get too discouraged.
