I keep attracting these very thirst trap type of guys. The issue is that they are these "alpha" types but they just steal glances and stare. I pick up on it and approach them try to make them comfortable but they still are so awkward and nervous.

Because you probably have similar core values. But the bad boy hasn't matured enough to control the child inside. Find one who is mature or maturing... and make sure it isn't you who is attracted to the bad boy in them. It seldom works out well.
