1st date no kiss?

I went out with this girl last week and it was a great date, perfect chemistry, flirting, touching, etc. Half way through the date I tried to initiate a kiss but she pulled back, laughed an covered her mouth saying she was too shy (I don’t know if it’s the way I lined it up. She was talking about some story on dating a girl in class and her jokingly saying she’s not bi. I tried to be flirty and say there’s only one way to prove it which she got the hint) I wanted to try again at the end of the date but she kept her mask on so I had no idea what to do.

she text me straight after the date and said she had a good time and we’re seeing each other again on Friday but is it bad that we didn’t kiss on the first date?

this girl seems a bit shy with it and I have the feeling I’ll need to give her more comfort/leading

This is a really good question. It really depends on whether it's something you both decide you want or if you prefer to take it slow. I found that when I was younger it took me some time before I knew when to make a move. Sometimes for some it can be a lot on a first date especially if you haven't known each other long. Others may just want to have a good time and go all in. Religion can also enter in if the person feels they need to wait a certain time or something. It may also sound stupid buy some girls might like it if you ask "is it alright if I kiss you?" Some girls might appreciate that you ask wheras others might want you to take the initiative. It's not always easy to tell. If the night is going well and you're both having a good time then maybe that's a good sign to just go for it.

She wants a second date. She also gave a fair explanation. I'd just take her word for it.

Some series I saw once had a gal explaining that being respectful to a girl doesn't mean to not try but to accept a no if it comes to that. I think that as long as there is chemistry and trying makes sense, those are words to live by. On a second date I'd still go for it if it feels right.

You can always tease her a bit about her feeling shy or not and gauge how much of a barrier it is.

Solid advice thanks. The date went on for like 7 hrs too which was crazy amount of time. When I walked her to her door she had the covid mask on so I had no idea what to do in that situation too.

It's not bad that you didn't kiss. No one even said that everyone has to kiss on the 1st date.. It's good that she told you that she was shy and you know the reason..

It's totally fine , maybe she was shy or maybe it wasn't the best time to try and kiss her , take things a bit slowly cux she seems to take her time , take ur time too , the relationship isn't always about sex , u can hangout and talk to eachother and get to know eachother first.
Enjoy ur relationship and take ur time with it.

I don’t think that’s it. 99% of the date it was off and we went to 3 busy venues. I didn’t mind but I just thought when we got to her front door it wouldn’t be an issue anymore
