Is my height putting girls off talking to me even though we matched (I'm 5'5")?

So I've decided to try out the whole online dating thing for the first time and whilst I've got a lot of matches, most of them go absolutely nowhere.

I know girls get a lot of matches and they can't possibly go through the profile of every guy that's liked them, but if we matched then I'm assuming (I could be wrong) that they were somewhat interested.

Sometimes I will message girls I've matched with and get no response. Other times I message girls (or they message me first) and we exchange a couple of messages before I never hear from them again. Is it possible when they matched they didn't actually take a good look at my profile? I've put on my profile that I'm 5'5" and I know a lot of girls will be put off by my height. Of course I'm aware girls just get too many matches/messages and can't reply to everyone.

Hey! In my honest opinion, I would have to say probably a little bit. It's a societal thing more than anything else. I'm sorry to tell you that. I know guys on the shorter side are often given a hard time just because they are tall. I don't think it's right that people judge others on the way they look. All I do have to say is you should try to find people in real life rather than on a dating app. It theoretically is more difficult, but it is also more rewarding. 😊

No need to apologise. And thank you for your honesty. It's pretty much what I thought. I just don't understand why they would bother matching or start talking if they were turned off by my height.

The plain fact that your height is already enough to make someone straight up not give you a chance by never talking to you is already a redflag in itself bro. Personally I wouldn't want to date such people.

Your height's got nothing to do with it. Just be yourself and stay confident with your own company and people will come to appreciate you with time. It's a patience game.

Wouldn’t say height is a big issue. More so it’s the online dating world where you get matches but need to stand out to gain traction.
