I'd respect her decision.. maybe she isn't ready for commitment or relationship yet.
We'd be friends already before asking her out but I can't be close friends with a girl I like (if it's only friendship she wants) ONLY IF the feeling is mutual and it shows she likes me and if she says there's a chance
I need to know how she really feels before i agree to the friendship
Cos no one wants to waste their time, energy/effort on someone who probably has feelings for someone else or doesn't know what they wants.

Girls make rules for guys they’re not interested in and they break rules for guys that they are interested in
If a girl said she wanted to be friends first it would mean that she just wants to get attention from the guy and she has no intention of making it more than that because if it was a guy who was like a muscular douche bag she would drop her drawers in a heartbeat like she has in the past.
