Guys, would you be okay if the girl you want to date told you that she wants to be friends first?

Yes, but no at the same time. If I really wanted a relationship with her, then I would respect her boundaries... but at the same time I would make it very clear that I want more and at some point expect more than just a friendship. Everything I did within that relationship would be geared toward progressing the relationship and after a period of time if she was unwilling to commit to a relationship with me then I would end it.

Honestly hearing that from a women is not a good thing for most guys, and most guys might not be as mature about it as I would like to think I would be. But then you would have to be a truly special person, because I would not hang around for long waiting on you to make up your mind and nor should you expect me to when I have made my intentions clear. I know what I want in a women and have all the life experience I need to know how to build a healthy and productive relationship with a women. When I meet a women who says she's just wants to be friends first, I usually take that as a huge Red Flag because what she is really saying is that she in not ready to date yet and if you have ever tried to date someone that doesn't want to date or is not ready to date... it usually does not end well. These types of women usually have serious trust issues or other insecurities that will not work themselves out on their own if she is not ready to put for a serious effort.

But then again I see myself as a good person and great guy that has a lot to offer a women and if she can not see that for herself then there is a limit to what I am willing to do to earn that trust.

No. That never leads to a relationship. Guys are not cars. You don't get to test drive them before making it official. That's stupid. Make up your mind. Either take a chance or don't. This will only make the guy want you more and then get impatient to the point where he either leaves you cuz he's tired of trying, or make you leave him cuz he keeps bringing it up. Why are so many women afraid to take a chance in life? Go out with the guy. And if you didn't have a good time or just want to be friends, BE HONEST AND TELL HIM THAT.

No I am fine with taking it slow but she either date me or I will look elsewhere. Because friendship doesn't mean exclusivity. And I don't want to be her friend when she dates others and I don't want to put efforts into a relationship if she doesn't. So it won't work. I have turned down women trying this before and I will do it again. I am not wasting time and efforts in the friendzone as a reserve.

I’d ask her to clarify exactly what her expectations are, but I’d probably agree to a friendzone if we had enough in common. I don’t think you can be “friends first”. My female friends are just that, not potential future gfs I’m constantly looking for an opportunity to get with.

That is called being friend-zoned. Friends first means only friends forever. If that is what I wanted, it would be ok, but if it wasn't, it would be disappointing.
