Why do you hear stories of women dating convicted rapists?

I don't understand these women, I mean date a man who raped another girl? Sure, he can confess his innocence but by court guilt it's hard... So why would a woman date a convicted rapist?

Maybe they have a rape fantasy? Either that or they wanna use the sexist system to try to get these rapists thrown in jail. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending the rapists. They should be in jail / prison. Doesn’t mean the justice system isn’t misandristically sexist. Whether it be a good thing or bad thing for men depending on the situation. It’s more bad because those who aren’t rapists are being treated as if they are.
