Why would my exboyfriend get tierd of our relationship after a month of being together?

We were in the talking stage for 15 months before we made things official we moved in together and started dating. He recently told me he just wants to be friends for 2-3 months while he gets his self together. And said he's been thinking about us just being friends for a while now. A few days later he told me he missed us being together and wanted to continue the relationship he only told me this because I don't do things for him anymore. I feel like I'm not meant to be in a relationship I try to do everything right while im dealing with someoene yet that's still not enough for these men. My first relationship the guy cheated and abused me that was 7 years ago. ever since then I just been meeting guys that will pretend to care about me or tell me they want to be with me just to get what they want and now my this guy got tierd of me after a month and this is my second relationship.
