Was it a subtle hint?

So this guy I've been talking to/visiting with was staying at a hotel in the next town over (he works on the road a lot& so he has to stay in hotels often) so I went to visit him. We swam in the pool, watched movies and hooked up. We both enjoyed ourselves very much. He initiated it by pulling me on top of him, kissing me biting my lip. It was great and even after he let me stay the night, brought me breakfast. I asked him questions about his job and he said "the boss can come do a room inspection at anytime so I would just explain to them that my girlfriend came to visit". So was that subtle hint on how he is feeling about me? He also mentioned that his buddy gave him thumbs up the next day but claimed it was because he filled up his coffee mug without the breakfast attendants complaining and even the next day to present we still text all the time, he even sends me pictures of his daily activities, so is he catching feelings or just being a clever player? We both felt a connection right away with each other.
