No, it's not worthless to learn cooking as a guy. In fact, if you can't cook a quality steak, you're pretty shit tier.

I meant as in the dating market, not for personal convenience. Women don't generally find a guy attractive if they can cook but I have seen a lot of men dating and even marrying girls cause they cook great. If you want to claim yourself as someone who knows cooking, you have to know more than cooking steak.
I took both home economics and wood shop classes in middle school and both were very diverse. There is nothing worthless in having an attractive girl baking partner and working together to get an A+.
Some women will absolutely love a man who cooks. After we met, but before we were serious, my wife needed a place to stay overnight and she was impressed that I was able to provide a healthy meal.
No absolutely it’s highly valued, I learned to cook and became one as an off-season job. I’m a very good cook for House food that is, and I improve everyday. Not to mention women love it when you cook for them.

What I have seen women may love the food but not necessarily the guy that made them. One of my neighbor girls ditch her long-term boyfriend and married a new guy. Both of them recently passed out of college and the girl got a job so he dumped his long-term boyfriend and married a guy with a job, the new guy can't cook. Money and looks matter way more than cooking skills for men.
I don’t have any idea on that story though because there has to be more there, all I know is every woman I’ve ever cooked for loved it and me along with it. (Pro tip I only cook for those I like)
Uh... my dude... cooking is the most important thing anyone could learn. I don't care if you're a man, woman, an alien, or a sasquatch; if you know how to cook, you won't go hungry.
A friend of fine told me that she got with a guy and when I asked why the first thing she said is that his cooking was delicious. So I’d say some girls like guys who can cook as well.
You're real out of touch with reality. A lot of single men cook. I'm a great cook. My father was a chef and my mother was a cook from Jamaica. I don't know where you get your info, but this is out of touch big time.
No not really useless. You might not use the skill everyday but what if your partner is out of order for a while, are you going to get takeaway everyday?
It's a life skill so take your balls out of your mouth and learn

No it's not worthless at all. Knowing how to cook is great and girls find it really attractive. I know a few guys who are really good cooks. I can't say any of my female friends are any good at it and that goes for me too, but I want to learn.
If you can cook a few unique dishes excellently that's definitely an attractive trait. I think it is plainly for both male and female. Things can change down the line with kids obviously but early dating it is valuable
Im a great cook. I refuse to cook if i have a girlfriend. How its helpful though is now i can date girls that dont cook and i can teach them. My current girlfriend was this way. She couldnt cook very well. I educated her. Now she's excellent.

Take a woman on a date and cook her a full meal.
See if she thinks you're not worthwhile dating over it.
Did multiple times, never worked. I cook more than excellent, they even agreed on that part.

Definitely not. It's a extremely important life skill everyone should learn
It’s far from worthless. If a man I’m romantically interested in can cook a mean meal, he’s guaranteed to be my desert. Every. Time.
Dessert*
perhaps at your age, it's true, I have heard girls saying "guys like that are only good after the thirties"
Sweetie, a man cooking was a good thing when I was in my 20s also. But by all means. Don’t cook. Idc.
Ability to cook and knowledge of what food does for your body is your basic and most fundamental tool of staying healthy.

You are an old member I am happy to see lasting on this website. Most of the good people left
How do those households manage where men can't cook, I assume they are the majority...
@d3n0939 thank you dude :)
I honestly don't know. And while I don't think men need to be top chef standard, it's not that hard to make a simple pasta dish or a very basic soup.
You must live with your mom if you think men aren’t supposed to cook.

since when has the ability to nourish oneself be a wasteful skill?
only a retard would ask a question like this one
guys who likes kids, animals and who can cook are adorable! <3
i don't require my boyfriend to cook or learn to cook. i love cooking! :)
but it would be nice if he can make food sometimes like a surprise!

Im married. My wife is a stay at home mom. I work full time. I cook every god damn day.
Your point is?

It’s worth it but you have to be interesting first.
