I have seen this stuff said before tho seeing it on the rise lately with videos from pearlythings & femsapian. I discovered them unintentionally pop up in my feed. They are all over & some people seem to gobble it up. Each video is recycling of these points:

Women expire after 25.

A women dating around will not only not help her learn what kind of partner she wants, but will destroy her ability to bond and make her ineligible used goods.

Women should marry young as a virgin, or no one will claim her and her life is meaningless.

If a women chooses correctly, she will derive great pleasure from obeying her husband.

Women having careers is the downfall of civilization.

Men don’t want to marry women who support themselves.

Women owe men their entire lives bc men must support them financially.

= This is objectively false, looks do not have set expiration dates, you can look the same at 50 as you did at 20 if you take care of yourself, and most guys are thrilled if you run out of eggs, because care free sex (though most women don't run out of eggs anywhere near that early)

= Marriages with 2 to 15 year age gaps are very common, larger age gaps are very rare in marriage. There really isn't a rule for this, but ideally, you want someone you can relate to, and while not impossible with large age gaps, its much less likely.

= More than 90% of the human adult population is irrational and can't navigate life successfully. Age and gender is irrelevant to that, and dating an older person isn't a magic solution to fix it, learning science, math, nutrition, ecology, art, taxes, laws, trades, etc. is.

= Yes, but only if he doesn't cheat, and the same rule applies in reverse. Marriage vows exist for a reason, when life gets hard, you stay with them and try to make it better, as long as they do the same.

I don't want to make an umbrella statement and say large age gaps are wrong. But I do think that "normally" it's better to be closer in age and share the stages of life together.

I think marrying much older will result in the younger person joining an already established life of the older person. For example the older person might own a house, have furniture, pots pans and dishes, decorations, etc. They have their home set up the way they like it. The younger person would probably end up moving into that household. They might feel like an outsider, because in a way they really would be.

It's like the younger person skips right past certain stages of life. I think there is something to be said for sharing the different stages of life. They grow and mature together. They get their first apartment. They buy their first dishes at the thrift store together. They buy their first furniture together. As they get older, they mature together, and hopefully make more money and live a nicer lifestyle together.

I have a friend who doesn't agree with me on this, or at least not all of it. She married at a young age to a much older guy. She says that she didn't feel like she skipped any stages in life. She also says she didn't feel like she joined someone else's life.

On the other hand, this same person got a new boyfriend a few years ago. When he moved in, the topic of him feeling like an outside came up. She was planting some new landscape while he was out-of-town. I mentioned that if she waited for him to get back, it might make him feel more at home, instead of being an outsider. She agreed with it.

It's common for women to date a little older, but only a small percentage of women date much older. Dating near their age is the norm. "Near" meaning close enough that they aren't in completely different places in their life.

When my aunt was 19 she married a guy in his mid-40s. It worked out fine for them. Because he was much older he died when she was relatively young. She did some casual dating after that, but never got serious with anyone else. When she died herself a few decades late, she was buried next to him.

Her parents disowned her though. Partly because of his age, and partly because he was a "musician" during the jazz age when musicians had a bad reputation. I don't think they ever talked again.

My best example of a partnership marriage was my own parents. Both worked, both made the same salary. Dad was blue collar, mom a white collar teacher with a master's degree.

What was great about their relationship is they had separate spheres that supported each other. And they planned their lives and our educations and their finances together.

They were an early example of a "power" couple. Not Hollywood style, but regular folks style.

They did grocery shopping together, planned our family vacations each summer together balanced the checkbook together, worshipped at church with the entire family. But they had a few more circumscribed roles: mom had the house as her castle and dad took care of the "home" maintenance and car maintenance.

But as we grew up, even THOSE roles blurred. Dad started cooking more. Mow started mowing the lawn. Dad was washing clothes: all things neither had attempted when we were young. And I never thought about how they changed over the years. But the society gave them permission, so they tried out new roles!

They joked and kidded with each other and us, were good at conversation, had sense of humor, loved to travel and took us along. Nobody was in charge. THey exchanged leadership roles according to what needed to be done at the time.

And there was peace and posperity in our valley. All that is needed is that the couple agrees to live a certain way and make it work. Doesn't MATTER how.

As Muslim, I don't support pre-martial sex regardless of gender, though I respect different cultures for most part as long it doesn't involve cannibalism and normalization of abuse.

I was 42 when I finally got married. My wife is 2.5 years younger. We both had full lives before we met. Neither of us had ever been married. We've been married now for going on 26 years. Obviously, we were not looking to start a family.

I've even read studies that indicate that the ideal age for women to start families is around 30.

Too much to read right now, but based on the headline question, I disagree with the part about men dating around. They should avoid casual sex too, just like a good woman should.

Women that wait past 30 to try to find someone really have wasted their good years where they had a much better chance of getting a good guy for an exclusive LTR.

Older women that are unwanted, or that have a past of casual sex, or have kids from past relationships are most often the ones that get angry about older men dating younger women. They are jealous because they made bad decisions in life and have no value to a good man. They also get angry at the young women because they are their competition. Just like if the man gets screwed over in divorce the first time, that isn't his fault, but if after that he doesn't get a prenuptial agreement for a future marriage, then that is his fault because he didn't learn from past mistakes.)
Men don’t want to marry women who support themselves. (No, men don't want a woman that focused on career so much that she is past 30 before being in a relationship. I think one has to remember this is the internet, hyperbole reigns! I came to this site probably like most people I think, just looking for answers. But what I discovered was DELIBERATE misinformation. What I also discovered was women today are far more aggressive and rude then I was raised for them to be. Now this is not EVERY woman. Younger women are attracted to older men, as we age we get more female attention so it’s not recommended to cash out before we have all our chips. Women get all their chips at 16 though so better to cash out earlier

Maturity is slow but not fertility.. mens sperm count is on a slow down hill from the time they turn 18. Personally I'd never have a baby with a man older than 30-35 to spare my kids from having issues.

And from what I've heard from other women the majority are attracted to those their own age. I've never once looked at a guy over 30 and thought he was attractive. Most of them leave me disgusted if I'm being completely honest. Tho I have seen older women like 40 and thought they still looked cute.
