Why is it that guys will take me out on actual dates and court me but I hear from other women that the same guy is only wanting to hook up with them?

Do guys categorize women into just hookups or dating material? I have been hearing from other women in dating groups that we were dating the same guy as me back when but they only hooked up with them or were talking to them in a super sleazy way. Why do guys put in effort with me and take me on dates but just have other girls they hook up with?

It’s interesting that you have women (plural, not even just one) saying that the same guy you’re dating only wanted to hook up with them in the past, and rather than see it as a red flag, you simply interpret it as them being sleazy and you having greater value since you went on a date (or dates, I don't know what’s gone on) and we’re courted. It’s commendable if you’re celibate or not an easy lay, but if this man is a player then 9/10 you are just a conquest. I’m not saying these sort of men can’t change their ways but it’s extremely rare in this day and age where genuinely dating someone is becoming so minimized, same with marriage.

I treat every woman according to thier merits. It's been my experience most women just want a hookup (despite thier claims otherwise).

It sounds to me like these women you're talking about are trying to control these men through sexual favors. And when that fails then those women are lashing out and speaking I'll of the guy. Because their pride can't handle that they weren't successful. It's no different then a guy who tries to trash the reputation of a woman because she rejected or wouldn't sleep with him.
