ok basically. I'm 15 nearly 16 (five foot 1) and I have a crush on a guy I've known for years but he's only 14 (six foot 1). I'm in y11 he's in y10. my friends reckon that he likes me too because rn we are literally best friends. we are also practically neighbors. I want to ask him out but he's like a whole year younger than me and I'm not sure if that's weird or not? and also we see each other every day so if I'm rejected that's gonna be really embarrassing. I'm not the only girl he hangs out with and I'm not sure if he sees me as just a friend or more. and also how do I hint that I like him without making it obvious? and is it weird?

Look at it this way:

If you don’t take your shot you won’t be dating him

if you take your shot and he rejects you, you won’t be dating him.

Either way nothing changes. So don’t worry about the embarrassment. And maybe you take your shot and he accepts your proposal.
