Why is there such a gulf gap between what women say they're happy to accept height wise, and men's genuine dating experience?

I actually just asked a question a few minutes ago for wen regarding if height was important for a man they considered to date.

End of the day, if a man is the same height as her or shorter, he ain't getting anywhere is the general consensus for a lot of men on the site here. He is seen as a child or someone not to be taken seriously.

Women are more attracted to men who're taller than they are. This is instinctive; they can't help it any more than men can help being attracted to younger women who have more signs of fertility. However, society doesn't really LIKE to admit the limits of human biology, so, much as it frowns on men for liking younger women, it frowns on women for admitting that they like taller men. Not for actually LIKING them; that's assigning a degree of responsibility (and thus, agency) on women that society disapproves of. But for admitting it, because men can't control their height, so it's cruel to hold it against them.

Women don't like being cruel or being SEEN as being cruel, so they often lie about it- and given the backlash they get they're honest about it, it's not hard to see why they wouldn't.

all these "short" insecure guys are also the loudest when they whine about the ONE thing they can't improve on
