Guys, is "wife material" dependent on looks?

I've heard from some guys that they'll date a girl who's kinda attractive to them, but not their "dream girl" looks wise as long as they get along personality-wise with them. But that they'll only date really long term or marry someone who is their "dream girl" or ideal type, and they'll hold out or date placeholders until they find that girl.

Is this true? Do you know who you'll potentially marry pretty on in the relationship? Or do you just date whoever you click with and see where it goes and if feelings grow?

Looks are about as close to last as my depth chart gets. I care way more about who you are and how you think and act and make decisions and handle setbacks or loss or manage money want kids have a great work ethic and a sense of personal responsibility dignity self worth and a compatible personality far more than looks which fade over time anyways.

For me I want to be attracted to my wife and like who my wife is as a person.
If I don't like who you are, I'm not marrying you.
If I'm not attracted to you, I'm not marrying you.

If someone is choosing solely on looks it means they are deprived.

Not a guy obvs, but I think there is some truth to that. I've heard guys literally look at a woman and go "that is the person I'm going to marry" just based on her appearance and first impressions. Just look up Jason Momoa and when he first saw his wife. Also Sam Claflin.
