That's pretty reasonable, but if you're just starting to date it's important to see where the girl is asking to be taken. Chipotle is reasonable- you can't really expect them to request going to McDonalds, but if they're asking to be taken to $50+ per person restaurants when you're not in a relationship yet, they're just looking for a free meal, and they don't respect you.

You shouldn't have to spell out how much you'll pay, ask her what kind of food she's interested in. Say she says sushi. Okay, find a few decent places that aren't high-end (listen, it doesn't matter how much money you make, do not spend a lot to interview a girl- I make a lot of money and it doesn't impress the girls you actually want to date), then see how she responds to these suggestions. If she automatically jumps on the most expensive one (and don't think they're naive, they know the expensive places), then it's a sign she's using you.
