Would a person with an A1 level of English be a turn off for you in the dating world?

No as that is very much wrong assumption. And that works both ways. People in Thailand and India are friendly to me but not my first language...

It means they know the most commonly used words and phrases in English like hello, how are you, yes, no, I’m hungry, I’m tired or I’m thirsty but they cannot speak in long paragraphs or cannot write a long paragraph like I just did.

Over the years, I have dated many foreign-born women: Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Ireland, Colombia, Brazil, Phillipines, India, and China. They all spoke English well enough to communicate but their English was not fluent. The bigger problem was their accent; my Chinese girlfriend can say something to me using all of the right words and have no idea what she said. Sometimes, I must ask her to spell the word for me.

As long as we can communicate, I am not turned off. . . and some of those accents are quite charming, such as the eastern European women.

I think A1 level means they know less than 50 percent of the English language
