It can worsen if you let it (romance) be the source of happiness, and hope in it or become obsessed over it.
I would encourage you to refine this skill (independence), and learn to enjoy your (individualistic) company. (Also) The simple and mere exchange of words from others. The simple affections of friends and family, and the possible companionship of a pet. 🐕
Fall in love with *Life* and your hobbies, as well as the thing you will do in the world 🌎 or contribute to it because that will be the most thrilling/ exciting/ brain-stimulating/ growth and processing “thing.”
I am convinced we only have this life in specific, once, so we should truly cherish it and have FUN.
Life doesn’t have to be or equate to COURTSHIP.
We don’t need a ‘beau for the ball,’ otherwise we’re useless- that’s medieval talk.
Shakespeare would make life look like tragedy and a romance novel..
but it’s just really supposed to be a fun time.
You’re not “adulting,” or “living” wrong if you don’t have another mere human, to be “joined at the hip” with you, 24hrs in the day 🤷♀️. Not you; not me; not anybody.
I think you realizing this, is a good way to be more balanced and emotionally secure.
It will clear up a lot of mental space.
I just hope and recommend you never downplay other human life and see them as a waste of time, or view THEM as UGLY creatures.
It’s a shame people in general, aren’t better at loving, but we will always be just human and what we are. We can’t beat them up for who they are, what’s been done to them, and what they fail to see..
many times those are the three horsemen of why relationships fail.
They act cruel for those reasons and we wish to beat them for those same reasons, with or without knowing, but those reasons alone are why we shouldn’t.
It takes a lot of will power and self awareness for people to defeat those 3 horsemen in their own lives, let alone to make it work with others:- who they are (their combinations of likes/ dislikes)
- what was done to them (their brain conditioning),
- what they fail to see (their intelligence/ attention span/ set of values)
I too, have realized this recently. Sis, it’s even worse when it’s not about looks, but personality. I’m planning on making a my take as well, but I can assure you even if you were the miss america, you’d still feel lonely and unloved
because people really just suck at loving nowadays, and men in specifics, are only used to handling sex. (No hate, just real talk). Love and romance is just out of their reach. They have to work double as hard to make sense of all of that, and at the end of the day, the “emotional cloud” of romance and highly emotional people can get in the way of productivity.
- Do we spend our lives trying to understand others, while the world falls apart?
or
- Do we spend our lives in ‘productivity’ and ‘progress,’ trying to ensure we can survive as well as those after us?
People- every single one, have to decide this for themselves.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yYou don’t. I’ve been single and not dated or even talked to a guy in a romantic way for years and I don’t miss it at all and seeing so many other peoples crappy relationships just confirms over and over how I’ve made the right decision. Don’t need to argue with a man about him not doing his share at home, worry about being cheated on or lied to, don’t need to go through breakups or cry over a dude forgetting or just not caring about both birthdays, anniversaries and holidays, no nagging about bizarre sexual perversions or laying there still not satisfied while he’s done and so rolls over to sleep. No cheapskate eho expects me to pay at least 50% of everything but still do all of the housework or taking care of the kids. Better off without boyfriend/husband in most cases. The few good men out there are hard to find and it would be a gamble to date because someone you think is good might not be because many will just fake being a good man until they’ve ”got you” and then reveal their true horrible selves.

You are so incredibly wise. Do not lose this thinking no matter what anyone says: man or “experienced women.”
That’s exactly it in a nutshell. I mean, you described it all too well.
I’d say:
Women grow up wanting romance and the companionship of romance, but men just aren’t romantic.
Men don’t make companions they only have brothers whom they barely keep up with as well.
Men could have dogs as well and not spend time with them as much.
It’s just not a natural attribute they have and many whether they will ever admit to it, see it, or not- they will never try to change it.
I don’t see it ever becoming a reality.
It’s best we let our emotions be dependent upon our selves and that we not let a single person live rent free in our minds.
We idolize them, and that’s so toxic.
It’s just not worth it.
Be head strong on this sis, but it seems you already mastered this knowledge where you don’t even have to be head strong on it. You just know it. 🤝
Great share.
+1 ySasha, I am so sorry that this has happened to you, and that it has caused your outlook to become so negative. Nobody deserves to be treated like this. As a guy, I was raised to respect women. God does not make junk! Everyone has SOMETHING good and attractive about them!
Perhaps you were moving in the wrong circles, associating with the wrong type of people, who would say such things to you.
But one thing is certain! You MUST NOT let other people's words, other people's opinions about you , determine how you feel about yourself! If you respect yourself, if you feel good about yourself, if you feel beautiful, you will be! I'm serious! No man alive wants you? I doubt you have taken a survey of all the men in the world! And how can someone want you if they've never had a chance to meet you or get to know you? Don't withdraw and hide yourself in a corner for the rest of your life! If you have nothing to talk about, read, take a course, take up a musical instrument, learn a language, and you will be an interesting person to be around. And if you dress to your best advantage and do something nice with your hair, you WILL turn heads, guaranteed. And somewhere out there is the guy who is just waiting for you, but he just doesn't know it yet. He's the guy who will fall helplessly in love with you.
I wish you the best. After what you've been through , you deserve it!00 Reply
+1 yI respectfully advise that you seek therapy to help you work through some of those self-esteem issues. The negative perception of people and relationships in general is not a healthy way to go through life. I have had my overabundant share of rejection and negative experience with women... it's not the fault of Women at large!- It's a few women and mostly a ME problem. I'm the one who either chose to interact with individuals like that and lose time on them or that's been unconfident and frustrated and bitter.
It's got nothing to do with -'needing men' I hear that all the time. You're an independent individual you need nobody, but that also means taking care of yourself and your perceptions of the world. Being bitter at more than half of the world (men) because you have had bad or negative experiences. In a more ideal world you would want to be happy and at peace with yourself and with a family and love in your life.
End note-Men don't hate your existence; they will have no problem loving you, but more importantly and first of all you have to learn to love and respect yourself-same goes for guys out there complaining about women

No, I'm not always right. I carefully said that is my "impression" from reading what you wrote. "Impression" means a tentative hypothesis based upon data which, by my acknowledgement, may be incomplete. I'm sorry you're going through this. But please don't lose hope (unless you really want to.) I can relate. As a short men, I've faced a lot of rejection and bullying from women. It sucks to be told you're undateable just by the mere mention of your height. Nevermind anything else. However, I also feel I'm not attractive on top of that. So, it's a real struggle.
I think you and I are both alike in the sense that we have low self-esteem. The more we improve that, the better chances of finding the right partner and doing well in the dating game.
Improve yourself and your self-esteem for you. We got this, friend!
If this even helps a little bit, I am happy. :)10 ReplyApparently this begs the question of, were your parents not affectionate with you? If chose not to answer then that is fine. But to me, it seems that may be the problem. It also sounds like you were bullied through out school. I'm not a professional therapist but I do pay attention to people and their behaviors to try and figure out why they are the way they are. Personally I don't think you would prefer to be alone but you're unwilling to take a chance of someone wanting to get to know the real you. You're not alone in being unique. But what you seek may not be in the box you're choosing. Just be you and broaden your horizons.
00 Reply2.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. you really don't need men, just like men don't need women.
we can all live alone and be just fine.
For women if you want to have a kid (s) you can just go get fertilized, guys it is a bit tougher, you need anything done around the house etc that you can't do, just call the repair person.
At least for me if/when you find the right person it can be more fun.
Any relationship can be a lot of work.
I have been single for long periods of time with no issues at all.
It gave me the freedom to come and go as I want to, do whatever I wanted to, buy anything I wanted.
I didn't have to worry that during the nicest weekend of the year that I would have to spend it at her cousin's wedding.00 Reply

I understand that you have had negative experiences with men and it's understandable to feel that way. I want to acknowledge that those experiences are valid and they have impacted you deeply. However, I also want to acknowledge that not all men are the same and there are good people out there who understand and respect women.
It's important to remember that you don't technically "need" a man in your life, but if you desire companionship, there's nothing wrong with that. You deserve to be treated with love and respect, and the way you have been treated in the past is not a reflection of your worth.
I know that life can be tough and it can be easy to feel disappointed with how things have turned out, but it's important to keep an open heart. Holding onto anger and bitterness only hurts you in the end and doesn't serve any purpose. Keep a strong and beautiful heart, not just for someone else, but for yourself.00 Reply5.9K opinions shared on Dating topic. I feel very sad for the woman that posted this, and I wish her well. Lonely hurts!
HOWEVER ( you knew this was coming, right?): I note that many men and women posted on this to comfort and reassure her for the most part, and that was very kind and sympathetic. When a man posts something about being unable to get a date or being rejected or friend-zoned or the like, the women on here either mock him or ignore him, and many of the men do the same.
Men get the short end of the stick, as usual.

You say that you think you're "ugly", and yet unlike most here you actually have a profile photo which I presume to be you, displayed. You may have noticed that most GAG members don't do that, even the ones who think they're wonderful. You also claim that most men hate you, and yet you have 47 followers here on this site, and most of them are men. Reality, and your perception of it, seem to be seriously misaligned.

While I don’t support women and their pursuits to romance, I do support and was thinking similarly.
You’re spot on because when I saw her pfp, I didn’t think she looked ugly at all. She looks healthy to me, with really only a low body hair count.
She looks healthy and pretty with just her looks and no make up, but with make up as well VERY LIGHT makeup would even be a boosted rating to 9 and with some minor MINOR MINISCULE HAIR CARE- 9.5
And obviously if she went to a ball and like got herself done at a Sephora and a whole spa thingy, she’d be 10!
(I think any female with the glam up for s night out is a 10, and the light stuff is 9, and healthy women are always at perfect 8s).
I probably shouldn’t rate, but I am just being honest and how she doesn’t look bad at all.
I think I noticed her follower listing once before and you’re spot on with that too.
I think you’re extremely correct in your last sentence.
That’s the heart of it for herself, but her actions in how she engages with men and the decrease, doesn’t seem like a horrible thing to me. It seems like maturity, no?
Unless she was down for just casual/ shallow stuff/ speed dating/ hook ups and such.

I don't know if you want someone to convince you why trying to find a man is a good thing or just to complain but frankly… This post don’t do you any favors. @Vegasrunner maybe a little cuz she says that no man would want her. But everything else she's saying it's basically protecting herself from the pain that men cause women. Which overall equals a happier life
- +1 y
@Apple1996 Um, that's literally the contradictions. This women's post doesn't seem like the post of a happy women, and coincidentally she's claiming that men don't want her, so your opinion is literally being proven to be false.

@Vegasrunner not my opinion. That's literal facts. Single women are happier/less stressed.
And it more seems like she just never experienced it and is missing out on that part. - +1 y
@Apple1996 Odd hill to die on. For starters it's only your opinion, claiming it's "a fact doesn't" make it one. Even worse you're sharing this opinion on a post from a women literally giving you evidence that contradicts your opinion. This is why people say women live in delusion.

@Apple1996 There's nothing to search. Walk into any courtroom in the world and attempt to present that statement as a fact and it would be immediately thrown out and classified as an opinion by definition. This is really debatable, you're simply wrong.

@sasha0426 I'm not sure why you feel the need to share that w/ me. You already have done a terrific job of validating my point while proving @Apple1996 incorrect. Ty for sharing.
Asker+1 y@Vegasrunner For real, what is your issue?
- +1 y
@sasha0426 Excellent question. @Apple1996 original statement is that Women are "far better off alone" We'll your statement contradicts hers as you admitted "I don't believe any man alive wants me" Which is a self pitty statement. It's also ironic that the woman who is telling you your better off only tells you this after sharing that she herself has a husband, which only adds to the original contradiction. Reality is its women that seek companionships and relationships, not men both of you have validated that point. TY.
Asker+1 y@Vegasrunner I’m too tired for this and have no energy to argue. Ok, fine. You’re right, and you’re always right.

Not everyone who walks and lives in solitude feels lonely/ lonesome.
The two are distinctly different.
The may walk a path of solitude by her own choice, but she may not and certainly doesn’t have to feel lonesome.
You’re a nice person to wish her well. Maybe next time consider leaving out the word lonesome and draw more attention to your best wishes for her.
A lot of men tend to try to play on women’s emotions and that’s not cool. 🤜🤛
I wish you well on your lonesome and probably sex filled road ahead too.

@Rosexøxø, I still don't understand why you needed to find offense in what I said. I know that it might be hard for some people to be alone and it's only courteous to wish people well.

No leave out the negativity.
I don’t see how you’re missing it. It’s like you wanted her to focus on the negative on purpose..
“Good luck on your lonely very lonely quiet road with not a single person in the world besides you.” That’s basically what you said when you’re adding the lonesome in the best wishes. You seem like you have no experience wishing someone well.

All you see is an anatomical nipple.
That’s all it is.
You only see things at face value, and you don’t spend time trying to learn about things for yourself.
Are you to blame?
No, you’re too horny all the time to learn about much of anything.
You simply ace brain recalling from school and get a job in that.
Men either recall in their work, or tone their bodies with discipline and they plateau in potential and humanity.
They don’t go beyond and they will either become defensive and say women are stupid and etc. for complaining or mentally shit down themselves.
They do not challenge themselves and they do not fall in love with much of anything.
Very little artists and scientists were the passionate men of the world.
In majority men have no passion- it is falsely identified as that, but what is really at play, is their testosterone/ hormones/ ego.
They don’t ever truly love things.

I’m a great lover and a great hater because of the emotions they entail.
On the noisy plane- you’re literally on a question site.
All of these words may as well, all be noise to you.
Since you are also a low xper level I will simply categorize you a troller.
You will always just be a nasty man who wears sex on his face.
You low human specimen
You wreak of sewage.
