I rejected a date because he owns a pitbull, was it right?

He had all the desirable traits, we were talking on the phone for weeks and we were going to meet yesterday. However, as soon as he sent me pictures of him and his pitbull, I rejected him.

He seemed like a family oriented man and sweet person but I didn't want to take any risk with a powerful dog breed, esp a pitbull. Was it right?

Unless it's a family dog I've known all my life, I'm still leery of any known powerful breed. After all that's stil a powerful animal and I respect it at a far distance.

Why?

Because some of them are fucking their dogs and the only way I know to avoid dating a woman who is fucking a dog is to avoid all dog owning women.

You are completely free to make any choices you want for any or even no reason.

I wouldn't have minded if it was another dog breed but a pitbull is taking a risk. I get some are kind but there is the 50% chance that powerful animal can turn on me too; then I'm beyond screwed.

As I have said you do not need a reason to choose anything you want or dont want.

But you also do have a good reason, these animals have literally been bred specifically for violence, some of them are literally weapons, war dogs.

I have no idea why you think you need to justify perceiving objective reality to other people.

No. Any dog can be powerful. Any dog can bite. Generally it's how the dog is raised not the breed itself. Pitbulls are incredibly kind, loving goofballs.

I guess in a way you were right because that man and his dog deserves someone who isn't judgmental

I just didn't want to take a risk. There are some dog breeds I don't mind and others (Pitbulls, Rottweilers, Cane Corsos or Bull Terriers) that I keep a distance from. I don't dislike dogs. I just feel more safer with other dogs breeds.

Like I said any dog can and has bitten/attacked. It's ridiculous to group dogs into a category of "evil" or "bad" because of shitty owners.

Some of the nicest dogs I know are pit bulls. Some of the meanest I’ve met are chihuahuas. I’ve met some of their owners and wondered why they didn’t stick with raising goldfish. Every dog is different.

I respect them from a far distance. Neither of my family members trust pitbulls either. Just the fact that there is any chance his pet can turn on me is enough to discard him as a dating candidate. He was a great match until he revealed owning that powerful animal.

Those dogs get such a bad name most of time they are amazing pets. Only hear bad story's not the good ones and people make them fight or treat them bad then get anger dog be the same with a human
