What should I do if I want to get to know this other guy but I’m still in a relationship?

I’m in a long term relationship for a couple years now but things haven’t been great all the time. I recently met this guy and he is very interested in me. Would it be okay to get to know him as a friend only? Or would that be wrong?

Nope, no excuses, leave your boyfriend if you want to pursue something else. What you’re trying to do is play it safe and solidify a situation with this other man before leaving the security of your relationship and that is not ok. If you even want to entertain someone else, do the right thing and leave your partner. Don’t act under the guise of friendship when you know you like each other. It’s wrong.

Absolutely not okay. You can't enjoy the benefits of a relationship with one person and seek out an upgrade to another. That's just manipulative.
