Once upon a time, there was a man named Frank who had a severe lack of humor. He never laughed at jokes or found anything amusing, which made him the butt of many jokes among his friends and family.

One day, Frank decided to take a trip to the zoo. As he was walking through the monkey exhibit, he noticed a monkey sitting on a branch, looking sad and forlorn. Feeling sorry for the monkey, Frank decided to try and cheer him up.

"Hey there, little guy," Frank said. "Why the long face? Don't you like being here at the zoo?"

The monkey just stared at him with a blank expression.

"I tell you what," Frank continued. "I'll tell you my best joke, and if you laugh, I'll know I've made your day."

So Frank began to tell the monkey a joke, but as he got to the punchline, the monkey suddenly jumped off the branch, ran up to Frank, and slapped him in the face.

Stunned and confused, Frank turned to the zookeeper and asked what had just happened.

"Oh, that's our resident prankster monkey," the zookeeper explained. "He loves to play practical jokes on people, especially those who lack a sense of humor."

Feeling embarrassed and red-faced, Frank quickly made his exit from the zoo, vowing to never again try and be funny in public.


And that is why some people don't have a sense of humor or tell jokes jokes in public. They have been slapped in the face by a monkey at the zoo.

There is no way in this world if you cannot laugh if you cannot laugh at yourself I could not be around you and I would laugh at that because I need to laugh I need to be laughing at all times I need to be a smart-ass I need to be able to laugh at myself and I have a dry sense of humor and most of my friends they understand it completely LOL because if you're hanging out I'm going to say something so stupid and if you cannot laugh at something stupid then I don't know I I could not do that I could not date anybody without a sense of humor

Sorry but it would be a little challenging. If I think somethings funny and you just sit there not laughing then I couldn’t do it. Or like bounce funny thinks off each other. Like the guy I like made a comment about how planes fly “in a straight line because of the earth”. Which by the way is false but he wanted to see if there was any flat earthers in the class and he was looking around the room and I just flat out say “Do we have any flat earthers in here?” He literally stopped and laughed. He is the cutest thing ever. But we laugh at each other and enjoy each other’s company. Hopefully he doesn’t have a girlfriend though. Fingers crossed!

I think I idealize a guy with a good sense of humor for sure. Free-spiritedness, sometimes, mixed with in-depth intellect.

Comedy is the Gold in this life. Thankfully I can laugh at most things people say or do, but yes, I’d like to laugh with him or make him laugh as well. Humor is a mustttt

Because I tend to become a drama queen and sometimes I need a good laugh to wake up.

Like, when I and my brother rented apt together and I was being my drama queen self he would knock on my door, crack a few jokes, laugh at me and with me at myself, then I realized just how much of a drama queen I was and we laughed together.

If not him, I don’t know what I would do, he made me laugh even at my worst.

I think the best thing I learned from him is to never take life too seriously. Which I sometimes forget.

I remember once I was depressed laying on bad and crying, he knocked and the only thing he did was look at me look at me with eye roll and laugh and then we were laughing together.

Probably not. But most do have humor if only for certain subjects. To not have humor would be something like being unable to understand metaphores and read between the lines. I know some autistic and aspbergers might have some of those issues sometimes but even they do have humor, just other types. Usually more direkt.
Hard finding someone without humor.

But it would be hard for me to like someone that is dead serious about sensitive subjects 24/7. There needs to be understanding that jokes can be made on everything without there being an honest opinion behind it. Otherwise we'd be locked in drama.

Nah... it would never work. The girl I'm seeing now has a great sense of humor. The only thing I don't like about her is that she doesn't really handle sexual conversations well.

She was in a 5 year relationship before she met me, but I've really gotten the vibe that she is one of these women who had the title of a relationship but somehow doesn't actually know anything about men. She is just so adolescent in so many things, and this is a 29 year old woman we're talking about.

Like, how can you have a romantic, physically intimate relationship with a man for 5 years, but still not be comfortable with sexual conversations? How can you not know how to express boundaries? How can you not know the way you like your body caressed?

But... she doesn't. And she wants me to teach her those things, but it's just a shocking thing to need to teach someone like that

That would be like dating someone who doesn't get sarcasm, in a way. Humor is how I break the tension, and I'd feel odd if I was the only one cracking jokes.

If she can make me laugh, I know it's OK for me to make her laugh. I dated one girl that was always serious. Always! I found out later on we had nothing in common. People can fool you! If a girl can be funny like me, she's a keeper for me!

I told a joke once that led to 3 solid hours of laughing. I don't want to ever be robbed of my joy or giving others that joy because the other person doesn't have a sense of humor. Life is too long and too hard to not have laughter to break it up and be able to enjoy yourselves from time to time.

Well, no. He doesn't necessarily have to be funny, though. I'm pretty good at making people laugh, so as long as he can laugh a lot, he doesn't have to be the one cracking jokes. If he can't laugh at all, it's gonna be a no from me. I don't like that type of energy. It's giving brick wall
