I accidentally locked eyes with this girl I'm interested in, and I'm not sure if I made her uncomfortable or annoyed or not?

I've said hey to her a few times around campus and she's seems really nice and kind, but I don't have any classes with her so I don't see her much.

So it was dark out when I was leaving, and driving through the parking to get to the exit, saw this person changing their tire and I was kinda like oh that looks kinda like her is that her? She looked back at me, as I was driving past but I couldn't see her face because of the angle of the lighting but she was staring back while changing her tire, and we held eye contact for about 3 seconds before she looked back down at her tire. I wasn't trying to flirt or make a pass at her or anything, I was trying to see if it was her or not then when I drove out of site I realized that it was and I started kicking myself wondering if I could've creeped her out. I couldn't see her facial expression so I have no clue if she was uncomfortable or curious. I hope she wasn't thinking why is this creep staring at me.

If a girl is uncomfortable when a guy makes eye contact, do they usually look away or what? Thanks.

First of all, I think you probably blew your chance with her right then and there, if that really was her. Because if it was, she's probably gonna think of you as that one creep who passed her in the parking lot, gave her a weird stare and then drove off.

Even if you weren't sure, you saw a girl changing her tire in the parking lot, alone, and probably stressed out. Being the gentleman that you are, you should have parked up next to her, gotten out and offered her a hand. A lot of women appreciate the gesture, and even though it wasn't the girl you liked, word travels fast and who knows, just this small act of kindness could have come back to you one way or another, as girls usually know one another from different friend circles they belong to, but that's probably just me.

So to answer your question, next time you see her again, try approaching her and introducing yourself properly this time instead of just staring at her like some weirdo stalker. If she says something like she thinks she saw you somewhere before, just wave it off as you seeing each other around campus. But if she remembers you from the time you ran off, say something like you were running late for somewhere, and you were on the phone or something and didn't pay attention, and apologize.

I bet what came to her head was this guy is staring at me all nosy yet he's not helping me. How can you talk to her after that? "Hey I'm the guy who stared at you while you needed help and drove away but hey I like you so let's make this work but don't count on me if it involves a tire fix."
