When you are away, do you expect undivided attention from your partner or someone you're into for some time everyday?

While you are away from your partner and are free enough to text or call (unless you get sudden work you need to finish) do you expect your partner or someone you like to give you some undivided attention everyday?

You don't mind if they talk to others while talking to you or say they do other things like playing games or other fun activities while talking you? Just as long as they're talking to you?

Some people prefer undivided attention while others are more chill as long as they're getting time. I am curious to see which type of people are more common.

The people I am around always give me their undivided attention, except some of my cousins. But friends and guys I go on dates with always give me undivided attention, cause I chose them. Cousins are accidental bonds - you did not choose them and they did not choose you so sometimes these people ignore me in the middle of a conversation but the ones who choose me and the ones I choose do not ignore me.

It all depends on what my significant other and I are talking about and who is around. If my girlfriend and I are in a group, then it needs to be a group conversation for the most part. There may be times that in a group that two people briefly break off from the main topic.


If I am talking directly to my girlfriend and we are alone, I do expect her undivided attention.


If my girlfriend and I are apart, I have no expectation of being in constant contact with her. Depending on the expected time apart a brief check in is thoughtful. Don’t keep score.


I would NOT appreciate her blowing up my phone nor would I blowup her.


I would not be angry if she was unable to respond right away to my brief check in.

That entirely depends on the nature of the relationship.

If I'm interested in a girl, then I would want to have frequent contact with her; not only because I enjoy talking to her, but also because I want us to grow our relationship and get to know one another better. (EVEN IF we end up deciding not to date, I still want to be able to put in the work to come to that conclusion, whichever side we land on.)

Of course she can talk to other guys. That's her right. As long as she isn't neglecting me.

... Of course, if we're in an official relationship, I wouldn't appreciate her talking to other guys. That would be considered cheating. If you're exclusive, you're supposed to be exclusive. No flirting with other people.

As long as she matches my energy I don't care. It's not the quantity as much as the quality.

I learned to stop putting my expectations on others a long time ago. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment. I've found it best to just accept what somebody is willing to give. And if they constantly fall short consider the possibility you're just not the right match for eachother.

No I think that's very unhealthy for the relationship. Last thing you want is feeling that you are a prisoner in your own relationship. Ofcourse you need to have attention for your partner but undivided attention sounds more like a prison sentence to me tbh
