I found a pair of used underwear in bfs apartment. I was doing my normal rounds of vacuuming and stumped across a pair of used underwear. I had been gone for the last 5 days on a work trip. He has only lived in this city for a year, when we first started dating I helped him unpack, get new furniture, and organize everything. When I sent him a picture of the underwear asking who’s they were he responded saying, “oh the underwear in the closet, I saw those and though about throwing them away, but wasn’t sure if they were yours. Within 30 mins of sending the photo he had come home from work and canceled his meetings. Don’t you think if you weren’t guilty you wouldn’t make it such a big deal. He has been begging me to believe him, but my gut tells me he’s lying. I clean the apartment all the time and yes maybe there is another explanation but I’m going to need the truth rather than “they must have been stuck to my clothes”. I also helped organize and unpack all his clothes so. I just need advice. He’s making me feel like I’m in the wrong for not believing him.

He cheated on you , he knows he was busted red handed and now trying to play like he is a victim , he came home in a half hour from work cuz he knew he fucked up , the truth is , he was already planning this before you left for your business trip , he knew you were going to be away for 5 days so that was his window to get another girl to come see him. He cheated on you for whatever reason , i been with girls’ that did this to their husbands as well, they lied about being married and would invite me over to her house to fuck her , to come to find out her husband was away on business trips , When I found out she was married I’d ask her why she was cheating on her husband with me , and they all pretty much say he doesn’t value me or he treats me like shit blah blah blah , why I no longer rush commitment with girls’ Most people in general are selfish people and only do what is best for them, they don’t value their partner like they want their partner to value them. So how long have you been with him for? How is your sex life with him? Does he have a hard time trusting you when you go on these business trips? Most men cheat when they feel unvalued or unappreciated by their partner , if she has selfish qualities meaning she only really cares about herself , and doesn’t initiate intimacy and affection with him that will usually make a guy open to getting it elsewhere , My advice to you is dump him , he clearly cheated on you

It's not suspicious it's just outright lying. I HAVE discovered rando unknown underwear in my laundry before when I was in college and used common areas or had a female roommate. I don't hold on to them in case they are the woman I'm seeing. I ask her immediately, when I find them, so she can see I'm not trying to hide something. If I found some that I KNOW were hers then I'd recognize them and give them back. It seems unlikely that she would have worn a pair to my place, taken them off, left them, and I hadn't seen them enough to recognize them. It also seems unlikely that I am an aardvark. About the same chances. Dump him for cheating, dump him for lying about it, dump him for not even giving you a plausible lie and insulting your intelligence. There are plenty of people that have a "as long as I don't find out about it" rule. When that rule is broken there are consequences. It seems like you didn't even have that rule.

Yeah, if they were not there before and they are suddenly there now, seems likely they appeared while you were gone. Running home from work immediately may as well be admitting guilt. They were "stuck" to some of his clothes? That's super lame.

Yeah it’s suspicious for sure to say the least. If you were a cop investigating a crime you would probably have probable cause here… You might not have a guilty verdict though.
