It's interesting that it's associated with the production of dopamine.
Can it be influenced by diet?
I think everyone produces the same amount. It's to protect from free radicals. Lol why do you ask this. Do you need more neuromelanin?
With regards to free radicals, foods high in antioxidants help reduce the damage.
That's what inspired my question. Molecular actions are influenced by our diet. So are you aware of this possibility, can diet affect our neuromelanin?
As far as I know there are different types of antioxidants. Some are produced in the body so are only found in food such as vitamin c. As far as I am aware melanin isn't an antioxidant it is produced by the body to protect from UV lights and sun radiation. Neuromelanin has similar structure to melanin and therefore protects the brain from melanin.
