Should I ask new guy I’m dating for him to pick me up from airport or did he lose interest?

I’ve been dating a guy for 2 months now. Things have been great up until I had to leave to Germany for 2 weeks for a business trip. He stopped being as responsive to my texts (texting back 12hrs- entire day later) which was not a big deal (but something I noticed) bc I am here for work and we had been seeing each other almost everyday back in California where we both live so a little space is not bad. Before I left, he made a comment without me asking anything “too bad I won’t be in town when you come back from Germany. I could have picked you up from the airport” but now those plans he had are cancelled and he WILL be in town.

My flight back to California is tomorrow night. I let him know this yesterday in hopes he’d offer to pick me up and told him “I miss you😚” in the same text which was the first time I’ve expressed any major affection to him. Wellllll, he didn’t answer for 18 hours (typical since I’ve been in Germany) and finally said “Aww it’s ok you’ll be back soon ! Hope you had a productive business trip, have a safe flight 😙”

Not only did he not prioritize responding to me after I told him I missed him , but he didn’t say he missed me back and didn’t offer to pick me up. When I was back home, he was always really good at responding and making time to see me now I feel like he lost interest bc I’ve been gone for 2 weeks during our early stages of dating.

should I just ask if can pick me up from airport? Or is he losing interest and I should just take the hint?
