Trending & News There's always a lot to do around a house to maintain it. Whoever has the least skill and physical ability to do the other things should do rudimentary cleaning of the home. Typically that is the woman. Women also tend to have a lower threshold for messy/dirty surroundings, thus it's appropriate for people that are more of a clean freak personality wise to clean things rather than nag someone else to clean things to their standards. They will get annoyed long before the other person who is not a super clean freak. Thus if you want it done right, do it yourself, don't complain to someone else. That said if the woman is a professional mechanic, plumber, electrician, landscaper, HVAC, etc. and they can put in the hard work/skilled work to do all the other things, then the guy should go clean the kitchen counter or whatever. Women often complain that no one helps them clean the kitchen, but if a guy doesn't do stuff like change the air filter in the AC and clean out the AC drain line occasionally the AC stops running and you end up with condensation all over the floor and mildew smell in your home. Most women don't even think about crap like that. They don't think about cleaning out the lent build up in the drier vent. They don't clean the leaves out of the drainage gutters so on and so forth. There are always projects that have to be done and that typically falls on the man to do.
Men don't clean to the satisfaction of a woman, do the woman should do the cleaning.
Definitely depends on the working situation, if both working similar hours, house work should be split, but if hours are not equal or nonexistent whoever is working less hours should contribute more at home to make up for it
I will say women because women like to stay clean but not the car. In car, men clean more than women

If both live in the home and both work full-time jobs, then they should both share the household shares. They can alternate doing certain jobs or divide the jobs so that the burden is relativey equal. I think both should work until the chores are done and that maximizes the amount of play time they can enjoy together.
And YOU can't settle the debate because there is not a right or wrong answer. There is only the answer that each couple develops for their own relationship.
In my relationship, my fiancee cooks and cleans the kitchen every night. I do everything else. That is a roughly equal split of the chores. Most of the things I do require more time but are only done once per week.
I don't ask her to cut the grass, prune the trees, maintain the electrical and plumbing, repaint the window frames when they look weathered, re-caulk the kitchen counter when it's needed, put up and take down the Christmas lights, repaint the dining room walls when they start looking grungy, check the air pressure in her tires, retile the shower when she's tired of the color, replace the window pane in the garage after she broke it with a rake...
She knows damned well what I would say if she asked me to clean the house or do the laundry too.
I strongly believe that the guy should always do all the household chores, laundry etc. most, if not all of the time. The only exception would be if he's handicapped or in poor health, or if he's working a lot more hours than the woman. This is my opinion only.
whomever you hire... haha.
it's something to share and depends on relationship. ideally, you both contribute. As long as one person doesn't feel being taken advantage of and feels respected, it's ok. Failure to heed that warning, means emotional erosion occurs...
Some women seem to prefer doing housework because it involves multitasking. But then other households may just be all male or all other gender, and so it then makes the answer more intriguing. I'll just say, in any relationship, either they all share, or they define roles, and it's up to each. 👍
I clean the house but my husband does help. I teach school so I'm off during the summer - so I resume the cleaning responsibility myself. 🙂
Both. It's not an either/or. The fact that you didn't even make both a choice just means you're one of the usual anonymous cavemen who seem to be multiplying like rabbits around here lately.
Whoever has the time to do so.
Usually both 50/50.
Whoever has the most orgasms lol. I say women should but only because it's not gonna be very clean if i do it. I don't mind straightening up or washing a few dishes but that's where my expertise stops.
It should be a joint effort if both partners are working. If there's a stay-at-home partner then they should do it.
They are better at it and evolution has adapted them to housecleaning. I hope this provokes some angry responses.
Whoever made the mess/doesn't work/depends on the relationship.
both, but i voted man, because a woman shouldn’t inherently be expected to always clean.
why is there no option for "both"? because relationships are 50/50, start acting like it. one of the partner's is not the parent here...
There's no debate about it. Cleaning is the woman's job.
If you both live there you should both clean it up.
Wife is a housewife so she does most stuff around. But I work from home and help when she calls.
There's a debate? There's no "should" about it.
I think it should be a shared responsibility.
I so because I am a clean freak.
