My boyfriend didn’t tell me happy 12th anniversary should I be upset?

I been with him for 12 years and yes I know that’s a long time and I have no idea if couple still say “ happy anniversary “ :/ I’m 28 and he is 31 we still don’t live together due to several things and we are not a long distant relationship either. I see him every week. I just told him last week how we going hit 12 years I guess he forgot? He did work late night but I’m a bit upset how things change after a while. Before he would at least text me something cute and plan something out :/

Instead of being upset, surely it would have been better to lead by example and remind him by saying 'Happy Anniversary!'. The fact that you didn't do this suggests deeper issues in the relationship perhaps?

We had some issue where I told him he should communicate with me more or show me he still interested in me. I’ve said this for several reason so I thought he would have at least ask me to go out to eat with him but doesn’t look like it. I’m going stay quiet and if he ended up talking me “he forgot “ I’ll just act like I did too

I've always said 'if you ever have to instruct someone or tell them how to treat you... then it's over'. Think about it. If you tell him to show more interest and give you more time, and then he does it. Him not doing so of his own 'free will' means he doesn't care enough to do so.
