Unfortunately, when a woman knows she can attract a man’s attention in a social situation and uses that ability to get a guy feeling good and just nice enough that he starts to lower his shields (like I think both men and women have) because he believes she is sincere and then it’s revealed in some way that is not the case at all. If done by a woman who knows exactly what she’s doing and does it for whatever gratification she might obtain from it, I believe it ranks up high in the nasty scale and is cruel. Playing with anyone’s emotions is just wrong. Men like women can be vulnerable. When a single man is open to meeting a nice lady and is out there with friends or alone in a social situation he might not show it but to varying degrees he’s a little nervous and so more than likely is the woman. When the two happen to come together. What happens next could lead to a wonderful moment in life and possibly progress forward in a positive manner or simply just may not work out but both are equally invested. I know there is a woman reading this who might tell a similar tale but the male is guilty of being just as nasty and cruel. The lesson for both is just don’t play…..

Well statistically men are happier when they're married, and women are happier when they're single. So I'd guess men probably take advantage of women in romantic situations more, just on average.

But there's an easy way to solve that: put in the effort to make sure your girlfriend/wife is genuinely, long-term happy in a relationship with you. Or just get a boyfriend/husband instead.

@Sitaraxx that's definitely not true. But I went and double checked anyways, and I also got it wrong. Women aren't happier when they're single than when they're married, single women are just happier than single men. And married men are happier than married women. Generally, people are all happier when they're married. It's just men are much more happy when they're married than when they're single, and with women the difference isn't as big, but is still there. So, sorry about that confusion.

Yes, men do tend to be more hesitant about committing, but also consider the whole "incel" and "redpill " communities that are upset about "feminism destroying the family" because of lower/later rates of marriage. Men do care about getting married. A lot. And women are told often that if they don't marry young they will be miserable and never have a family (by those same men), so it's no surprise that they also care about getting married.

How much people want something and how happy they are once they actually get it are not always similar levels at all.
