Think about it like anything you had to learn in life. Riding a bike is challenging at first but eventually you get really good at it. Socializing and comfort in social settings is the same. You have to get out there, do whatever small step. If that's making friends online and meeting up with them, joining a club or making friends at work, build from that, really small attainable steps.
