Men have an ego when it comes to how attractive their girlfriend is. A man who's with a gorgeous woman will feel like he's 'won' and get proud over that. Often, women are the same way about height. The taller the guy, the more she's won.

A woman will feel that way when she's having to get on her tippy toes to kiss him, or walking in public with him, or feeling his long arms hold her tight in bed. She'll feel like she's bagged a really impressive person. Unfortunately for short guys, height plays a part in how happy she is in the relationship. If a guy is with an ugly girl, other guys will pity him. Same thing happens with a woman who has a shorter boyfriend.

Everyone wants a tall guy, everyone wants a pretty girlfriend. If you get it you'll love it and if you don't, you'll feel embarrassed about it. That's coming from someone who dated a 5'5" guy. He may be a fantastic person but that embarrassment still lingered

Some girls have strict height preferences, some are looser. Just like how some men refuse to consider a below average girl and others will shrug it off as long as she has a good personality.

I'm not saying all women need to have a man much taller than them, I'm saying it is embarassing, as a woman, to date a man shorter than you. You feel like a giant dating a kid. It's uncomfortable.

Also you bring up a lot about your height and I really don't see how that's related... like, being tall doesn't immediately mean women will run to you and ask you out. Women may prefer taller guys but it's not like they date the face, they date the mind- personality matters much more than physical traits. If you've never dated it would mean you've either never tried, or you don't have a personality women want to date

I would say that women are actually like that.. I mean I used to work security at a museum and probably seen hundreds of couples walk through those revolving doors.. I've seen a lot of homely looking guys with nice looking women.. Women are much more "forgiving" in real life.. In fact most preferences don't really account for anything in the grand scheme of things simply because you never know who you'll connect with and get attracted to.

But after chatting with her, not even within a week something turned me off when I was asking her questions. I said hey, you look tall, are you like 5'10? She's like I am tall, I'm 5'9. See I never understood that mindset. If we all talk about equality and women can be strong as a man then why is it different if a guy is 5'10 and a woman is 5'10? I get it, women are naturally shorter and men are naturally taller but I don't see a woman being tall as a threat. Anyhow, getting back to my story, this girl says, yeah I only date tall guys and no one under 6ft. She's like a guy could be my height (5'9) and be the best guy in the world and I still wouldn't date him. Right then and there I said, listen you can have your opinion but I think you are being a bit harsh so I'm going to end the convo and draw the line here and that was that. It depends on how short you are. What is your height? If you are like 5'7 you are not doomed. There is plenty of women 4'10-5'3 out there. I do not think they would mind your height.

An ugly woman and an ugly man is not the same. A man can make up for an ugly face with other physical qualities or character qualities, status or something like that. A woman with an ugly face cannot become attractive to men no matter what she does, because beauty in a woman is the primal importance when it comes to relationships.
