Is living on your own then moving back with parents at 29 the same kind of shame vs living with them at 29 & having never lived on your own?

For context, I moved out at 24 & owned a condo for 3 years. Moved back in last yr & decided to go that route bc of the housing market & just wanting to save up. I have a bit of a nest egg from selling my old place but it’s locked away in a cd & trying to be smart. I feel like I should have some more shame/be more down with my life (how society would see it) but maybe I know I would’ve felt worse if I was still living with them & have NEVER lived on my own. Or am I lying to myself?

The same thing happened to a few cousins and friends of mine (folks moved back in with their parents). If you can do it, then good for you. While it's great to have your own place, if the economic conditions don't really allow it, why put yourself through the hardship at this time? It doesn't really make any sense (unless you have a lot of money). Plus living with parents is not a shameful thing to do (in Asian circles at least).

I don't think either is shameful with how expensive housing is. I could buy 2 mansions in 1995 money with what I have saved and can't even buy a nice house with that money now.
