Soo, I have a date tomorrow. How should I tell of it?

It's official. I'm asking a question that is so fucking cliche withing GAG lmao. I've been asked out by a coworker (yes I know I know, we are really good work friends though). I accepted it. Thing is, my helicopter parents. Yea I'm going on 24 years of age in a few months and will soon start looking for my own place to live. As of right now, I still live with my parents. They are very loving, very very sweet. They'll whip ass if I need them to. But I know that protective side will come in. I kinda don't know exactly how I should tell em my plans with him because I don't want a ton of questions asked. Any advice? At all?

if they truly are the kind of helicopters parents people do talk about it... then they will try to get involved and control the situation... which is something you will not want

and, in solving this situation... the wanted outcome would be for them to not interfere with your relationship and your life, not in this way

Thing for me is I let my mum know when I'm about to leave work and we are heading out after work. I can imagine the calls pouring in like 30 mins after my shift lol

Maybe don't tell them it's a date. Just hanging out with "some" work friends. It should lower the emotions involved, and you still say at least part of the truth.
