I guess that all depends. If he is super insecure that is not going to work for me. I am not going to spend my time in a relationship reassuring him that he is good enough for example. That shit gets old and quick. Now if you are talking about being supportive of his choices and for a lack of better term cheering him on in life in general then yeah sure. That is all about being in a relationship and supporting your partner. It really depends and I would need more context to how you mean making him feel more confident.
To a point, sure, but mostly he should be able to do that for himself.
