I am retired from the dating game so I am not asking because of personal interest.
If a guy sees you in a public place, and he thinks you are cute, and he is interested in meeting you, are there any ways he can approach you so that you don't think he's a creep? And what kind of things should he avoid doing if he wants to get your phone number?
I’ve often been approached in public spaces, isn’t that how people meet?
My ex approached me when I was having lunch. Past year, a lot of men asked my number or asked me out publicly. I didn’t date any of them, though some were very nice admittedly. I was just not ready as I was freshly broken up.
Out of 8 men I dated last year, 4 approached me publicly:
1. Approached me when we were at a party and he asked me for a dance.
2. Approached me when I was having dinner with my friends and he approached me and even joined our table. We spent 5 hours talking and laughing.
3. Approached me in the hospital, I was getting infusions cause I was recovering from Covid, was all alone there and he seem to see me and like me.
4. Approached me when I was outside with a friend of mine, he seem to have had me on social media and he recognized me on a street, he asked me out.
When I am with my friends I am very cheerful, chill, fun to be around and positive, I think that’s why men often approach me.
When I am alone, I walk very fast and don’t even look around. So might be harder to approach me.
Yesterday I was approached by a guy in the library, he complimented my typing skills and then asked a few questions about me accompanied by some light banter. Though I declined his advances, he made me feel comfortable.
He did not get in my personal bubble, and most of all he did not say something weird! Most girls will only perceive a guy as a creep if he says or does something creepy e. g prolonged intense staring or making a comment about her body.
I do feel like girls will tend to be more approachable in certain settings e. g parties, gatherings or just hanging out with other friends, compared to when we our by ourselves, we have our guard up and are really just trying to get from point A to B without being disturbed.

You are only creepy if you say something creepy. A guy approached me this morning talking about how hot it has been lately, which is fine. A boring topic, maybe, but not creepy.
Just appeoach and be yourself. Be real, organic. Don't try any lines or anything just be yourself. Be respectful.
He can approach me by asking something that has connection to the place where I am at.
I’m usually out with my kid so I don’t really talk to people
