Why is there such a stigma against mail order brides?

Why do girls who genuinely want to settle down not choose mail order bride services? They seem so much better than dating apps. I really women spend a lot on dating apps and men too when they can really get to filter out non serious people from those who actually want to settle

Alright I just wanted everyone to know I thought of it as a better option compared to Tinder and other dating apps where people are used again and again with no stability of relationship.
My question is really not about gold digging because women are supposed to be looking for lifetime partner

Paying money in advance is not the best way but I heard a lot of people who claim their wife is mail order. Only problem, the wife's usually don't speak much English and they just serve and remain quite. And yikes 😬

I didn't know this guy but I trained at his gym. He was my friends friend. He was in his mid 50s did the mail away bride thing. The second she was a legal citizen she divorced him and took everything and ran off with his son. Never ever heard a good outcome
