How to get him to like me more than a friend?

Okay so I like this guy which I do feel that he is attracted to me but I think he only sees me as a friend. He’s also very good looking and has a lot of girls that crush on him. I’m thinking of either showing interest in him (but worried that’ll push him away maybe) or act like I’m interested in someone else. I know the second one sounds ridiculous but one time when I told him about a date that I’m going to, i could tell it spiked his interest and constantly questioned about it etc.

You can’t convince a man to like you.

Men are very simple when it comes to women that they like. Either they will pursue you romantically or sexually because they’re genuinely interested in you, or keep you around as a friend because they simply enjoy your company. Have you spent time alone with him? That is one of the biggest tells; you would not have to question if he likes you if he actually did.

I know this sounds harsh, but I’ve spent years trying to convince men that I wanted to like me. I had always struggled with going after the men that flirted with me but strung me along. I have ruined many friendships with guy friends this way.

It took me meeting a man that I was interested in that was genuinely also interested in me to break out of that cycle and shape the way I view dating. The way that a man treats you when he likes you vs when he doesn’t is night and day.

It is also important to note his current dating life. Is he talking to someone or seeing someone else? If so, he is less likely to display interest in you because he is putting his effort elsewhere. Do not get too hung up on getting him to like you, but figure out if you actually like him or just the idea of him because he is attractive.

Focus on creating a strong foundation of friendship. If it is meant to evolve, it will. Focus on becoming the best version of yourself. Healthy, happy, hobbies; you will attract the right person for you, whether that is him or someone else. Flirt. Say things that have a double meaning and be ultra subtle (act like it’s innocent) and see how he responds. Do more of them and see if he’s receptive like small touches or saying phrases that are again, double meaning. If he KNOWS you like him before he has developed a liking for you, he might get intimidated by what possible expectations you could have for the friendship.


The pros and cons of a certain decision have to come up to what you can and cannot handle. In this situation, as a very straightforward person, I’d tell them that I’m interested in them even if we have mutual friends because I just don’t care about what people think, and frankly, I’m way too impatient to play games. However, it’s the safest route here to just flirt with him very subtle over time and develop it over time or develop it as the conversation progresses.


If you want to be attractive, make sure your hair is done nicely, wear basic makeup like eyeliner/mascara/lipstick to emphasize female contrast (contrast is scientifically shown to make a “control” face look more femininely attractive), have a nice style, have confidence through graceful, slow movements, good posture, as well as a confident tone of voice. That will make you very attractive.


Just make sure you actually want him and not the chase.

Showing interest in him is usually better although you could trade him and make him jealous.


if you want him to see you ask him to come to your house and watch a movie. You can sit close by him and maybe even cuddle him. Test how receptive he is and flirt with him if he’s interested


Otherwise you could make him jealous and then use that to encourage him to go on this date

Put a shoulder against him while you’re watching a movie and if he’s cool with it cuddle into him. You’ll be close to him but if he looks back to you, that’s when you flirt and if things go well you can move into kiss him and then try to escalate it from there
